      A GOOD CHOICE IN FANS ARE THE HEAVIEST ONES. 90% OF THE TIME ANY WAYS.

      @pakscienceclub IT WILL BE HARD TO ESTIMATE THE TORQUE AT THIS POINT. I HAVE BUILT THE LARGER ONES AND KNOW THEM A LOT MORE THAN THESE SMALL ONES. BUT I WILL EXPLAIN THE 2 PHASE IN THE NEXT VIDEO. AND I OHMED THE COILS OUT IN THE VIDEO AS WELL.

      THE DISTILLER IS SOMETHING I SAW AT NASA LANGLEY A FEW YEARS AGO. SIMPLE AND HE SAID THAT IT MADE 8 GALLONS A DAY.
      I HAVE NEVER BUILT ONE , BUT I WANT TO DO ONE REAL SOON.

      Hmm…so a larger motor works better for lower RPM. If nothing else, those bearings are a definite bonus for other projects.

      @thrundar YA , ALITTLE LIKE THAT! I GUESS I HAVE TO GO INTO IT A LITTLE MORE ON THE SIZE WIRES AND NUMBER OF TURNS.
      THE BEARINGS ARE GREAT. I PUT ONE UP ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO AT A FRIENDS HOUSE. IT HAS NO FURLING MECHANISM BECAUSE HE ALTERED IT. IT HAS BEEN IN 80 PLUS MPH WINDS ABOUT 11 OR 12 TIMES ON THE COAST OF Va. AND MORE TIMES FOR 50 AND 60 MPH CONTINUOUS. HE TOOK IT DOWN TO PAINT IT AND GOT PAINT IN THE BEARINGS. IT DIDNT TURN MUCH. WD-40 TOOK CARE OF IT. GOOD TEST FOR BEARING HUH!

      muddmann It dunna wanna come off….. I need help getting a motor housing seperated from the bearing … im not using the class cieling fan motor, I found this motor last night in the recylers bin …really well made specs>1.5amps and only 150mm in dia, SMC Shell Electric MFG TCUB42V-LC Jun2003… but I cant get the freekin housing off … maybe a puller tool? HELP

      @helpmonkey OKEY DOKEY DUDE,
      GET SOME THING TO HOLD THE CENTER PIPE STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN WITH A LITTLE ROOM FOR THE SHELL TO MOVE.
      THEN YOU NEED SOMETHING THAT CAN BE TAPPED WITH A HAMMER OR LIGHTWEIGHT PIECE OF METAL. THE END OF IT SHOULD BE ABLE TO CATCH THE GAP BETWEEN THE SHELLS. PRESS THE END AGAINST THE GAP AND TAP IT WITH THE HAMMER IN DIFFERENT SPOTS AROUND THE SHELL. THE VIBRATION DOES THE WORK. ONCE YOU GET THE FIRST ONE OFF, THE SECOND ONE WILL COME OFF EASILY.

      Hi guy,
      I just go my motor apart ( I broke my right shoulder when I was working on my green house and I was just able to convince my wife to let me go out to my workshop and that I would be good and not getinto anything ( little does she know)). OK to the point, my motor assembly covers are off but the bearings have remained on the shaft. Can I not just exchange the covers, one for the other with out pulling the bearings?
      Sorry if mnis-spelling, trying to do this with my left hand ( i’m right.

      @9887663 OH YA! GOOD JOB. I WONT TELL HER ANYTHING… THE BEARINGS DONT HAVE TO COME OFF. IT’S A 50/50 CHANCE THEY COME OFF WITH THE COVER OR STICK TO THE SHAFT. EITHER WAY IF THEY BOTH COME OFF , OR IF THE BOTH COME OFF WITH THE COVERS, YOU CAN SWAP THE COVERS. IF ONE STICKS ON THE SHAFT, THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO PULL THE BEARING.
      YOU ARE IN LUCK THO !!
      WHEN THE COVER IS BACK ON, THE CLEARANCE OF THE COILS AND THE BOLTS ON THE COVER THAT HOLD THE BLADES ON, IS CLOSE. WE MUST BE CAREFUL LATER

      well,i’ve a question that why there is usually 3 blades in wind mill and if we use four instead of three,will it have any bad effect? i have four blades of underconstructing windmill..

      EACH BLADE IS JUST A LITTLE MORE DRAG. THE FASTEST IS A ONE BLADE UNIT WITH A COUNTER WEIGHT, IT LOOKS A LITTLE WEIRD BUT ITS FAST. WHEN YOUR UNIT TRIES TO TURN INTO THE WIND AND THE PROP IS HORIZONTAL, IT TRIES TO STAY IN THE DIRECTION IT IS POINTED. WHEN IT ROTATES TO A VERTICAL POSITION, IT YAWS FREELY. WITH 3 BLADES AND UP, THERE IS ALWAYS A BLADE IN VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL POSITIONS. THUS VERY SMOOTH YAWING. JUST LIKE A WHEEL.

      A FOUR BLADED PROP SPINS A LITTLE SLOWER THAN A 3 BLADED PROP, BUT IT IS VERY SMOOTH. IT SHOULD STILL HAVE A GOOD TORQUE AND STRONG AS A 2 BLADED PROP. 3 BLADED PROPS HAVE TO BE ASSEMBLED WITH A LOT OF SCREWS AND BE EXACTLY STRAIGHT TO BALANCE OUT RIGHT. BUT THEY ARE SMOOTH AND EFFICIENT. GOING FROM A 3 BLADE TO A 4 BLADE PROP WILL LOOSE ABOUT 4 OR 5 %. NOT BAD.

      @TheThunder41 THE QUESTION IS UNCLEAR. BUT IF THE WIND TURBINE IS DOING 1 KW , THEN 24 HOURS IS 24 KW HOURS. IF YOU ARE ASKING ABOUT HOW MUCH POWER YOU CAN GET OUT IN A SET WIND, I ALSO NEED THE WIND SPEED AND PROP DIAMETER.

      Just did this and I’m shocked at how easy it was to turn an old fan into an effiecient alternator. Thank you for the tips!
      Next step for tomarrow is a trip to the scrap yard to hunt for a drum fan from a furnace.
