We would like to stay in Orlando, Florida so we can stay close to our job and where I go to college.
I’ve found an apartment for about 0 a month which includes Washer/Dryer Hookup, Microwave
Dishwasher, Spacious Close, Disposal, Dining Area/Room, Separate Kitchen, Cable-Ready, Ceiling Fan(s), Window Coverings, and Air Conditioning.
We only have one car which is his and he spends about 0 a month on insurance and about for gas.
We both work as lifeguards at a local pool and our hours fluctuate. However during the summer we make about ,000 a month together. We’re not planning on moving for another year but if we can do it earlier it’d be nice. We’re also looking for another job for each of us.
What would we be looking at money wise when we move out?
We do not plan on getting Cable. Neither of us watches TV all that much so we can live without it.
Water/sewer is included in the cost.
We both are on our parent’s plans and would pay them the difference. It would be much cheaper for us at only about 10-15 dollars a month.

We purchased a home which was built in 1963 by the previous owner. The gentleman passed and his home was sold to us from an estate. The problem is….everything in this house is exactly the way it was in the 1960′s when the home was built.
The lights were installed and were recessed into 1ft x 1 ft holes cut into the ceiling. Its time to spifty things up here a lil bit, so we would like to put new light fixtures in with a couple of ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Problem is, what to do with these big holes when we take the old fixtures out. I think instead of hiring a drywaller to fix the big box holes, I would like to buy medallions and cover the holes up when the electrician comes to install the new lights.
The ceiling is the classic 1960′s ceiling where someone did their handywork, and made lil round swirls with a brush somehow, so if a drywaller were to do this job, he would have to match that swirl, and I think thats going to be difficult, so what do you think about medallions? we just had insulation blown in today, and if I dont cover up the holes with something, things are going to get dusty around here. What should I do with the holes where fhe fixtures are in the ceiling after I replace them?

I have a ceiling fan that I like to hire someone to install for me. The ceiling is already pre-wired for it so I don’t need any additional electrical connections. All I need is someone to put the ceiling fan up and make sure the switch on the wall works to turn the fan on!

What is the going rate for installing ceiling fans? How much do electricians usually charge? I don’t want to overpay, but I want the job done right and not look for the cheapest price/labor and get subpar service. Thanks!
I just called Home Depot and they charge , and Lowe’s is "starting at 5 and up depending on factors". Btw, I live in California. Don’t know if that matters much.

I have a rotary controlled dimmer switch that I’m gonna mount by my bed and I want to wire it into just the lights on my ceiling fan (I may get a seperate switch for the fan at a later date) so that I have dimming control of the lights. The wires I have available are: coming out of the ceiling = White, Black & Green. Coming from fan = Blue, white & Green. The dimmer control switch = has 2 black wires together and green by itself. I have a solid white lamp cord that I’m running from the ceiling fan to the dimmer switch and I moreless just need to know what wires from above I need to use for my connections between them. I had this config. wired up to an old ceiling fan in which I cut the pull chain off of and wired it that way ,but now I’ve bought a new ceiling fan and don’t want to cut the pull chain. I want to wire it from the inside of the base this time. Thanks for any help you can offer me.
Please be as specific as possible with your answers cause I’m not no expert electrician ,but I do fill I can do this job myself with the right advice. Just want to make sure I make the right connections so I don’t burn my house down.

I would love to add more lighting to my Kitchen and Living Room. It is such a large open area that the ceiling fan light and the small chandelier are not working real well because they themselves are in a recess cutout in the ceiling. So I would like to outline the cutout recess ceiling with recess lighting. How hard would it be to add the new lighting and can a DIY be able to handle the job.

None of the bedrooms in my apartment have a light source. I would like to install ceiling lights on a blank ceiling and realize I will probably need to hire a professional electrician to do that. Any idea what it may cost me per bedroom (assuming this is a standard job and that there are no out of the ordinary complications)?

There are no existing lighting fixtures, I don’t have an attic, there’s someone that lives above me, my ceiling is solid and unscathed.

Is it possible that I install a ceiling fan and recessed lights? already it looks like a hassle or expensive with an electrician. thanks

I live in Los Angeles county, if you have a recommended electrician for the job that’d be great too.

I have a bathroom exhaust fan but it doesn’t seem to be getting the job done. By the time I’m out of the shower the walls are all damp. The ceiling in my shower is lower than in the rest of the bathroom, could that be why the fan isn’t doing it’s job? Should I move the fan into the shower ceiling, knock out the ceiling in the shower, or see if purchasing a more heavy duty exhaust fan will work? Please help!

I showed a handyman who’s good at electoral work a light fixture and asked him to replace it with a fan. At first he said no problem, but later he thought about it and said it would be a much bigger job (has to cut open part of the ceiling around fixture, etc.) Not sure what he was talking about but he wants 0 just for the labor. Wonder if I’m getting ripped off.
