The previous ceiling fans worked okay, but in addition to being rather lackluster in terms of performance, they were not the right type of fans for rooms with such high ceilings. The old ceiling fans were 52-inch “hugger” models, which basically meant they were mounted flush to the ceiling. My uncle also noticed there was a flaw in the design that prevented them from working correctly. The new fans are both Harbor Breeze “Crosswinds” models, and they have five blades and measure 52 inches like the fans they replaced. I also have no idea what brand the fan being replaced were, possibly Hampton Bay, but not sure.
