Learn how to replace a ceiling fan with this instructional video from Lowe’s. Replacing a ceiling fan can instantly update the look of any room while keeping the cooling and energy-saving benefits. Choosing the right fan for the room size is important to ensure adequate air circulation. The general guidelines are as follows: • Longest room wall is 12 feet or less: Use a 36-inch diameter ceiling fan • Longest room wall is 12-15 feet: Use a 42-inch diameter ceiling fan • Longest room wall is 15-18 feet: Use a 52-inch diameter ceiling fan Choose a replacement ceiling fan that goes well with the décor of your room. After you buy the perfect ceiling fan, read the packaged instructions on how to put it together. Once you’re ready to install, turn off the power on the circuit breaker for the room and label it with tape or a note to prevent anyone from turning it back on while you’re working. Dissemble the old ceiling fan before removing it completely. Once old ceiling fan is removed, you can install the new base, fasten wiring, and assemble the rest of the fan. Now you have the fresh look of a brand new ceiling fan that is sure to spruce up any room.
