Does anyone know what is the best thing to use to clean ceiling fans especially one in the kitchen where it is not just dust that I can use a brush to clean it but the dirt is sticky I guess from cooking and stuff in the kitchen. I tried wiping it off with a wet rag but that is not doing the job. Please help!

98 year old house with 9 foot ceilings was added to over many years. What i call an idiot redid the kitchen with a popcorn finish. Is there a way to clean it and what do I do to prevent the excess dirt (ceiling fan) from being so difficult to maintain
